The referee of last night's controversial Uruguay v Italy match has an amazingly ironic nickname.

Marco Antonio Rodriguez was the man in the middle who missed Luis Suarez's infamous bite on Giorgio Chiellini and apparently he goes by the moniker 'Dracula'.

Rodriguez  was given the nickname because of his resemblance to a version of Bram Stoker's character depicted on Mexican television. The ref's choice of hairstyle and slightly receding hairline lead to an uncanny likeness with the fictional character. Unlike his doppelganger, the South American isn't that quick to notice a neck-biting when he sees one.
