Real Madrid have confirmed that striker Mariano Diaz has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating at home.
The Spanish club announced the news via a statement which said: "After the COVID-19 tests carried out individually on our first football team yesterday by the Real Madrid Medical Services, our player Mariano has given a positive result. The player is in perfect health and complying with the sanitary isolation protocol at home."
The La Liga champions are due to travel to Manchester to play Manchester City on August 7 in the second-leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
It was recently announced by the UK government that Zidane's squad and staff would be exempt from the re-imposed 14-day quarantine rule on travellers from Spain.
Pep Guardiola's men hold a 2-1 lead in the tie thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne in the first leg in Madrid.
Diaz made just five appearances in La Liga for Real Madrid this season, scoring once in the Classico against Barcelona at the Bernabeu.
