David Meyler has signed a two-year deal with Championship club Reading after his release by fellow Championship club Hull City.
Reading boss Paul Clement confirmed the news earlier today.
He comes here with a lot of experience at this level but also the level above. With his ability and his leadership qualities, David is going to add a lot to our squad.

Meyler is 29 and represents a good move for the club, just a day after it was announced John O'Shea is also set to join the club. Meyler recently joined up with the Ireland squad during the end of season friendlies against France and USA.
Paul McShane is already at the club, as is potential Ireland international Liam Kelly. Kelly has claimed he remains open to representing the Republic of Ireland after initial confusion about his future.
It was a disappointing season for the club last year, who finished just three points clear of relegation in 20th and sacked manager Japp Stam. It seems there will be a strong Irish contingent at the core of Clement's rebuilding job.
