In case you hadn't seen by now, Stephanie Roche was on the cover of the Sunday Independent's Life magazine and it's fair to say it has caused a lot of debate.
In reality there's two issues at play. On one hand is the photos. On the other, the style of the article. We've covered both separately so there's no need to go into it in depth again but it's fair to say that the article has been very divisive. Some are upset with Roche for choosing to accept the offer, others are angry with the Sunday Independent for the content.
Oh. Hashtag disappointed. Thought Stephanie Roche was better than a tacky photo shoot in the Sindo.

Do those photos of Stephanie Roche in the Sindo do anything to enhance her position as a positive women's role model? Don't think so #sindo

Stephanie Roche is a famous footballer. But she is female, so the Indo put her in her undies. pic.twitter.com/t5nCJGMI1r

That Stephanie Roche interview & accompanying photos. I hope they paid her well, because those clothes are nothing short of ridiculous.

Then there's the opposition to that view. (There was similar opposition on twitter, the below Facebook posts simply convey the view in more depth)
The opposing view is not, once again, not universal. Some were looking at it as over PC-ness, others simply wanted to defend Roche for her decision to take part in the photoshoot.
Regardless of how you view it, there's no denying the article has succeeded in getting people's attention.
