Chances are, Ray Parlour has told this story thousands of times. He does appear to make a living out of rehashing stories from the days when the culture surrounding alcohol consumption at Arsenal was pretty liberal.
Still though, this is pretty amusing.
Ahead of the 1997/98 pre-season - a season in which Arsenal won the double - five English players, including Parlour and Steve Bould, went out for a few social drinks with new French signing Gilles Grimandi tagging along.
Speaking to Talksport, Parlour takes up the story.
One pre-season, Gilles Grimandi said 'can I come out with you English guys?'.
So we went into the bar and Steve Bould - there were five of us - and he said 'can I have 35 pints please?'. We had seven each and Gilles Grimandi had a small glass of wine.
He was looking at us saying 'who are they for? Is there anyone else coming?'.
I said 'no, that's seven each Gilles. That's a warm-up.'
He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
