Details have today emerged that Real Madrid and Spain legend Raul is set to join New York Cosmos of the NASL.

The veteran striker is due to sign a multi-year deal this week and will also take on a role as head of youth development with the New York club.
It is interesting that Raul is set to join a team in the NASL, considering compatriot David Villa will be leading the line for New York City FC in the MLS, and with other former stars opting for India, but we imagine that the youth development role will have been a big factor for Raul who had most recently been playing with Qatari side Al Saad.
