Gamers all over the world are eagerly awaiting the release of EA Sports FIFA 15, which is due around these parts on September 26th.
In order to make the wait less painful, EA Sports have slowly been leaking out player ratings (such as the fastest players in the game) so FIFA fanatics can start planning which players they want to use, and today the full database of players in the Ultimate Team game mode has been made available.
Naturally, the first thing we did was check out the ratings given to Irish players (Richard Dunne is the second slowest player in the game) and we can now present you with the top 20, as well as how the Irish national team should look according to the FIFA ratings.
#20 - Richard Keogh - Derby County
#19 - Robbie Brady - Hull City
#18 - Alex Pierce - Reading
#17 - Damien Delaney - Crystal Palace
#16 - Anthony Pilkington - Cardiff City
#15 - Ciaran Clark - Aston Villa
#14 - James McClean - Wigan Athletic
#13 - Glen Whelan - Stoke City
#12 - Damien Duff - Melbourne Heart
#11 - Richard Dunne - Queens Park Ranger
#10 - Shane Long - Southampton
#9 - Wes Hoolahan - Norwich City
#8 - John O'Shea - Sunderland
#7 - Stephen Ireland - Stoke City
#6 - Darron Gibson - Everton
#5 - Seamus Coleman - Everton
#4 - Aiden McGeady - Everton
#3 - Robbie Keane - LA Galaxy
#2 - James McCarthy - Everton
#1 - Roy Keane - Ultimate Team Legends
So there you have it. Is Seamus Coleman under-rated? Although his stats clearly show he will be a cracking player to use, but at 78 overall he seems a bit low for us. Roy Keane being a legend in Ultimate Team will be very enjoyable for the tiny minority of players who will get to use him. Any ratings you disagree with?
What if the Irish national team was picked based on FIFA ratings?
A strong team, but would Stephen Ireland be convinced to re-join the international set-up based on his FIFA rating alone? We're not convinced.
