Hyperbole and Irish sporting achievement go hand-in-hand. We're quick to dub anybody with a semblance of sporting talent as the best thing since sliced pan without ever having seen them in action.
However, for one reason or another, some folks slip through the net.
It could be for a multitude of reasons. Certain Irish players weren't fancied by managers whilst in their pomp, some in their post-career lives have rubbed people up the wrong way, and some have just vanished from memory.
