The internet was culpable for so many great evils in 2016, the standout monstrosities being the US election and Man City's attempt at b***r.
However, all can surely be forgiven in light of the news that fans of Glasgow Rangers are at war with their Little Mix counterparts on Twitter.
It's perhaps a rivalry which has been simmering for some time, but the bizarre feud kicked off in earnest when 'Gers fans began campaigning to get the track ‘Glad All Over’ by The Dave Clarke Five to the top singles spot this Christmas, in honour of their striker Joe Garner.

Meanwhile, a quick look at the As Things Stand table shows why the Little Mix faithful have been left incensed that their side's 'Touch' may have to settle for a Champions League place this festive season.
Rangers fans sniffed blood, and were quick to point out their historic superiority in the domestic accolades department.

Even Sky Sports have picked up on the feud...
While a few Rangers fans, despite enjoying a battle which has been christened The New Firm by many historians, can't quite comprehend what's become of their season...
As per NME, The battle for Christmas No.1 is currently being led by Clean Bandit with ‘Rockabye’, while Little Mix are also in competition. Rangers' effort is currently 4/1 with most bookmakers.
Little Mix, it's worth pointing out, face two tough trips to Glasgow in 2017, when they visit the SSE Hydro on November 10th and November 11th.
More to follow.
