Rangers got away with a jammy draw away to Aberdeen this afternoon, after they were awarded a 94th minute penalty when Stefan Gartenmann's pulled Connor Goldson's shirt in the box as a corner was being taken.
VAR got involved, and after a lengthy deliberation from referee he awarded a penalty at the Pittodrie Stadium.
Rangers Get Favourable VAR Call
The goal cancelled out Bojan Miovski's first-half finish, and keeps Rangers in touch with league leaders Celtic, as they lie eight points adrift with a game in hand.
However, despite the clear jersey pull, Aberdeen manager Barry Robson was in disbelief at the decision"
I've watched it back and I think where do we go if we're going to stop the game all the time? I think when you see it, he's been blocked so he's trying to get back to him.
If we're giving penalties, like this, or fouls, where are we going with this? Everything's scrutinised. What I would ask, as the manager of the football club, is, so VAR checks that, why did it not check Goldson on Polvara? Is that not checked just after it?

🗣️ "If we're giving fouls for that, where are we going with this? If we're going to check everything, we need to make sure we do it right."

"That's my question. If we're going to check everything, we need to make sure that we're going to do everything right," he added.
"Well I think the big thing is he's getting blocked. We say we're not allowed to block now, are we? So, where does he go with it? Do we just say 'right, just let him run'? I think it's soft, I do.
"VAR's checked it, it's went against us, and as I said and I'll repeat myself, if we're going to check that, let's check what happened a couple of minutes later as well."
