He may have only been at the club for a matter of days, but Ralf Rangnick is already putting his stamp on Manchester United.

His finger prints were clear to see on the team during their 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend, with the players pressing more and looking far more organised on the pitch.

It will be interesting to see if this will be maintained over the course of the season, although the German will do his best to ensure that will be the case. That includes by adding to his backroom team, with two new faces set to come in in the coming days.

American Chris Armas is set to take the coaching role previously filled by the recently departed Michael Carrick, while Sascha Lense will be brought in as a sports psychologist.

Speaking ahead of the Champions League clash against Young Boys tomorrow night, Ralf Rangnick explained what each man would bring to the club.

We have decided to bring in a sports psychologist, Sascha Lense, I worked with him for three years at Leipzig. We know each other. He will be introduced to the team as soon as he's got his visa. I hope we'll have him on board by Thursday.

I will also have another assistant coach with Chris Armas. He was at New York Red Bulls when I met him. He will again hopefully be able to join us in the next few days...

I don't know what the situation is like in England. Most German clubs have employed a psychologist. For me it is logical. If you have special coaches for goalkeeping, strikers, fitness, you should also have an expert for the brain.

Not to put them on the red sofa, or hold hands, for me it's about helping the players know the brain should assist the body, not work against it. For me everyone in the team should think the right way. Whenever we speak about football, the major part is up here [the brain].

Armas has spent his entire career in North America, managing New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC in recent years. He also earned 66 caps for the United States as a player.

Lense has filled similar roles at the likes of Schalke and Dynamo Dresden, while working alongside Rangnick at RB Leipzig.

It will be interesting to see what impact they can have on this United team.
