It seems the British tabloids have upped their witch hunt of Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling by outing the England international as a witch and demanding that he be burned at the stake.
The news comes following a long and protracted character assassination of the former Liverpool midfielder, with red tops finally giving up on exploring reasonable ways to denigrate the 23-year-old's character, instead focusing all their efforts into convincing the public the 2014 Golden Boy winner practices witchcraft and should be executed as a result.
Numerous rags have cited unnamed sources that claim that operates a coven out of Manchester City's boot room. Reports also state that manager Pep Guardiola knows about his players' necromancy, but that the former Barcelona manager condones Raheem's interest in the occult as long as it doesn't affect his performances on the pitch.
It is also thought that Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour supports Sterling's sorcery, even going as far as ordering industrial amounts of monkshood, wolfsbane and eye of newt in order to appease the player's extra curricular activities. It is unknown at this point whether Sheikh Mansour's contributions fall into line with financial fair play regulations.
News outlets have insisted that any potential execution should take place after the World Cup in Russia in June, so that the media can wring any outrage pieces on Sterling when England inevitably get knocked out of the summer showpiece.
