Liverpool Fans Sure To Be Annoyed With Latest Raheem Sterling Developments

There we were thinking things couldn't get any murkier after Aidy Ward's incredible rant a couple of weeks ago. Raheem Sterling's agent made it clear that no amount of money would see his client sign a new contract at Anfield.

That led to reports that it was down to Chelsea, Man City and Real Madrid to fight it out over the 21 year old's signature but now it seems Sterling has added his two cents, and Liverpool fans won't like it.

The Guardian are reporting that the want-away attacker has indicated his desire to move to Man United due to his respect for Louis Van Gaal. Although it seems Sterling accepts it may be difficult to force through a move to Old Trafford, a desire to work under the Dutchman has meant that Sterling will continue to leave it open as a possibility.

There have been rumours that United have already opened the bidding with a £25 million offer. That seems slightly fanciful but if it is the case then it seems a bidding war could soon develop pushing the offer closer to the £50 million that Liverpool are though to value Sterling at. If it is in fact United who reach that figure, it would be very interesting to see how Liverpool react.

If he gets his way Sterling will be the first player to move directly from Liverpool to Man United since Allenby Chilton (great name) in 1938.
