Liverpool are heading to south-east Asia in the next 48 hours but it seems Raheem Sterling doesn't really fancy a mid-summer jaunt to Bangkok. The want-away attacker informed the club that he did not want to go on the tour yesterday and he has now failed to turn up for training this morning after deciding to call in sick.

Sterling returned for pre-season training on Monday and he has met with Liverpool officials and made it clear that he wants out after Liverpool rejected two bids from Man City.
Although he has yet to lodge an official transfer request, it's no secret that Sterling has no intention of pulling on a Liverpool shirt again. However, the club feel that they hold all the cards in this battle and they are holding firm on their £50 million valuation.
It seems highly unlikely that Sterling pulling a sickie and refusing to go on the tour will do anything to extradite his departure from Anfield. We'd suggest this one could drag on for quite a while yet.
