Man City are currently taking on Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, and currently lead the Ukrainian side 2-0, thanks to some disgraceful refereeing.
The first came through David Silva on 13 minutes, with Riyad Mahrez bamboozling the Shakhtar defence on the right before drilling the ball across goal for the Spaniard to tap in.

The second came courtesy of an atrocious call by the referee, who pointed to the spot when Raheem Sterling hit the ground after accidentally kicking the ground with no one around him:
Worst penalty decision in history. #ManCity #Sterling pic.twitter.com/eQVSl7X3mb

"Oh he's kicked the ground. Oh dear..."
"There's an official behind the goal. You've to question the reason for his existence!"
Man City are 2-0 up thanks to Gabriel Jesus' penalty. But replays show Raheem Sterling kicked the ground rather than being fouled. ? #VMSport pic.twitter.com/zQ03adpfk8

Comical.
Gabriel Jesus gleefully gobbled up the opportunity to double City's advantage, and are currently in the driving seat at the Etihad, but viewers at home could barely contain their incredulity at the call:
Of all the penalties to give Sterling! What a shambles

Raheem Sterling now hitting such high levels at Man City that he can win penalties without being tripped or diving. Fair play

Not saying that it's the biggest UEFA scandal involving Manchester City this week, but I've just seen the Raheem Sterling penalty decision.

Would have liked to see Sterling tell the ref there that it wasn't a penalty

Sure, Sterling’s trip isn’t a traditional dive, but he’s gained a penalty from it, so it’s definitely conning the referee. Would have been fair play to admit he fell, but not sure fair play rules are being adhered to right now.
