Current Napoli coach Rafa Benitez is expected to take over from Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid in the coming weeks, setting in motion a number of moves that will disrupt a number of clubs this summer.
Ancelotti will see the door at Real despite him delivering their hallowed 10th Champions League triumph last season because Real finished second to a rampant Leo Messi led Barcelona in La Liga and only reached the semi-final of the Champions League this season.
The Sunday Times reports that Benitez was in "advanced negotiations" with West Ham over the soon to be vacant manager's job there with Sam Allardyce expected to depart the club after today's final Premier League game but the prospect of working with Cristiano Ronaldo instead of Stewart Downing was presumably a deciding factor in his decision.
Benitez is also reported to be ready to lead a massive transfer splurge to ensure Real return to the top of European football after this 1 year drought.
The paper also reports that Gareth Bale will stay in Madrid this summer despite his agents sounding out a move away.
Did you get all of that? It's going to be a long summer.
