A 1-0 loss to West Ham in early May was a dagger to Spurs' title hopes last season. They went into the game four points behind eventual champions Chelsea.
Three days later, Chelsea thrashed Middlesbrough to go seven points clear at the top of the table. Antonio Conte's side would win the title a week after Spurs' defeat at the London Stadium.
That game between Spurs and West Ham was played on a Friday night and broadcast live on Sky Sports.
The broadcast became infamous due to co-host Rachel Riley's seemingly innocuous description of Spurs that evening.
It's deja vu for Spurs, isn't it? Proper bottle job.
According to The Times, Riley has departed Sky Sports over that comment. Matt Hughes reports that Riley will not present Sky's Friday night football coverage next season.
Apparently, Sky were willing to offer Riley another deal following the end of her 12-month contract. However, Riley declined the broadcaster.
Following the game between Spurs and West Ham, Riley described the abuse she received as 'hideous'.
Didn’t mean any offence to Spurs or their fans tonight just a surprise to slip v WHam with their form on paper. Personal abuse is hideous.

She was dropped from the broadcast for the game between Chelsea and West Brom a week later where the London side claimed the title. This appears to have been key in her decision.
According to Hughes, Spurs officials had complained to Sky Sports about Riley's comment.
On Twitter after the news of Riley's departure from Sky broke, Gary Neville suggested that other presenters 'sticking the knife in' had not helped Riley's cause.
A Scandalous response to a nothing comment. Not helped by other presenters in the TV world sticking the knife in!! https://t.co/HeLACiM8D6
