There's something fascinating about the phenomenon of clubs who decide to hire a player-manager to run their team.
Like a shot that goes in off the post, there's just something inherently more fun about a manager who has to jump into the action and rough up their opponents a bit.
Sadly in 2019, it is a dying art with the ever-increasing demands of the modern game making it nearly impossible for any would-be player-manager to cross the divide.
We have seen a few players take on double duty as caretaker manager towards the end of their playing days in the Premier League in recent years, with Swansea's caretaker player-manager even going on to get the job on a full-time basis after hanging up his boots at the end of that season.
But it's been 20 years since someone took charge of a team they were playing in as a permanent manager.
See if you can name all of the player-managers in our quiz below. We've got every player-manager of the Premier League era as well as some other notable names along the way.
