With the new season started yesterday, Everton captain Seamus Coleman sets a milestone. With the retirement of Mark Noble, he becomes the longest-serving player in the Premier League. At a time when loyalty is a rare commodity in the football world, Coleman's 13 years with Everton is staggering.
Players rarely stay at one club for the majority of their careers anymore. The days of spending all of your playing days with same team are all but gone, with a few notable exceptions.
That has resulted in a shortage of players who have been at one Premier League team for more than just a few years. What we want to know is, can you name the ten longest serving players in the Premier League? (we've already gifted you one)
A couple of rules:
- The player most have been at the same Premier League club for all of this time, and are still there right now.
- Time spent with the club outside the Premier League counts. So if they spent a couple of seasons in the Championship with the team, it still counts towards their total.
You have eight minutes to get them all. To give you a helping hand, we have given you the time they have been at their current club.
If the quiz does not display correctly, you can take it here. Best of luck!
