Report: Qataris Eyeing 3 Marquee Signings If They Buy Manchester United

The Glazer's process welcoming bids to buy Manchester United is now entering its final stages, although it is still not clear what is likely to happen in the coming months.

The Americans have made their willingness to consider bids known for quite some time now, with a number of interested parties emerging as a result. After the latest rounds of bids, it looks as though two groups remain in the running.

Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS are thought to be the frontrunners, with the Englishman willing to stump up around £3billion in order to acquire 50 per cent of the club. This could well suit the Glazer family, some of whom are hesitant to relinquish all of their shares in Manchester United.

The other group is the one front by Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, who remain committed to purchasing to buying complete control of the club. Many supporters are backing this bid as a result, although it does come with the morale quandary of one of the world's great teams becoming a sportswashing product for a nation with problematic policies both at home and abroad.

In any case, quite a large proportion of their fans are apparently willing to overlook this issue if it means more spending in the transfer market.

Qatari group eye marquee signings at Manchester United

The Qatari group would no doubt inject a huge amount of money into Manchester United, similar to the Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabian projects at Manchester City and Newcastle United respectively.

Not only will that be related to the club's transfer budget, but they would likely oversee infrastructural improvements related to the stadium and training ground, both of which have been neglected under the ownership of the Glazers.

When it comes to potential signings, it seems as though they have identified three possible targets.

BILD journalist Christian Falk is reporting that the Qatari group are eyeing Kingsley Coman, Eduardo Camavinga, and Kylian Mbappe as three potential marquee signings should they complete their takeover at Manchester United.

Three French internationals, it remains to be seen how viable a move to Old Trafford would be for each of them.

Coman is a player that has been linked with United at various points over the last number of years, and having spent six years at Bayern Munich, he could be open to a change of scenery in the near future.

Kylian Mbappe also looks likely to be coming towards the end of his time at PSG. Real Madrid have long been viewed as his most likely destination, although Qatari investment into United could also put them in the race for his signature.

20-year old Eduardo Camavinga only joined Real Madrid in 2021, although their resolve to keep him could likely be tested with a large bid after the news emerged that they are set to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the weeks ahead.

These three are likely to be only some of the names that the Qatari group would consider should they complete their takeover of Manchester United. However, it remains to be seen if they can actually get the deal over the line.
