The true hero of a captivating day of sport was on Lewis Elliot, who turned 3 quid into 20k today with the simplest of accumulators.

Behold.

It almost seems easy in hindsight- three matches, 8 goals required - but the odds were against him. It started with the Scottish cup semifinal which served up 5 goals, most of them ugly (but they all count)

Then there was the unexpected Crawley-Carlisle goalfest.

And he must have been sweating it when he saw that Chelsea starting XI but Eden Hazard arrived on the scene to give Chelsea the winning goal and Lewis the 20k.

We laud Lewis for his betting nous but we do note that these accumulators are 6800/1 for a reason. He is a rare hero.
