For 8 minutes, Glasgow Celtic were in dreamland, 1-0 up away to the richest club in the world that managed to lure Neymar away from Barcelona in the summer.
Unfortunately, Moussa Dembele's deflected effort in the first minute gave Brendan Rodgers and the travelling Celtic fans nothing but false hope inside the Parc des Princes, as normal service was soon resumed and the hosts ran out more than convincing 7-1 winners.
Wonderful goals from Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Dani Alves, twisted the knife as the Celtic players were chasing shadows all night, but hopefully they managed to get out of Paris before being handed a copy of this morning's L'Equipe...
Known for pulling absolutely no punches with their player ratings, the French football newspaper awarded the best performing Celtic players - Moussa Dembele, Tom Rogic, Olivier Ntcham, and Kieran Tierney - with a 3/10, while Dedryck Boyata was graded just 1/10.
Ouch.
It should be noted that Mikael Lustig was not given a zero, he was withdrawn through injury after 13 minutes and it seems as though L'Equipe don't bother with the subs, even if they played 70+ minutes of the match.
In the reverse fixture, a 5-0 win for PSG in Glasgow, Scott Sinclair was given a 4/10 which was the highest for Rodgers' side, while 2/10 was the lowest awarded.
Also noteworthy is that while Celtic's ratings make for grim reading, they didn't overdo it with the PSG ratings as only Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Adrien Rabiot earned 8/10 which was the highest rating in the match. Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola was given just 4/10 for conceding that early goal, although he was still rated above every player in green and white.
