PSG offered little to their Champions League last 16 tie against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, with the French champions stuttering through a lifeless display that saw them fall to a 1-0 defeat.
They now have an uphill task in the second leg - and French sporting institution L'Équipe tore the PSG performance to shreds in their match report.
PSG v Bayern: L'Équipe player ratings go in on French side
L'Équipe - never averse to a strong sporting opinion - made their feelings clear on PSG's dire and unimaginative performance on Tuesday night.
PSG failed to produce a single goal on home turf against German champions Bayern Munich, with their game void of any creativity until the closing stages, after the introduction of Kylian Mbappé stretched a tiring Bayern defence.
Nonetheless, the stars who started the game for PSG offered little, even with the usually reliable brilliance of Lionel Messi and Neymar on show.
L'Équipe reacted to the game in typical style - their European press roundup was headlined "Europe mocks the game of PSG," while their player ratings told the story of a night the Parisiens will want to forget sooner rather than later.
Their player ratings said that PSG had "little control", while they praised Bayern's defensive efforts for completely stifling the French side.
Lionel Messi and Neymar were expected to carry the PSG attack with Kylian Mbappé recovering from a hamstring injury, but they were both anonymous in a performance which saw PSG register just a single shot on target - other than Mbappé's two disallowed goals off the bench.
Both Messi and Neymar were awarded 3/10 by L'Équipe, with the pair slammed for inefficiency, and lack of influence on the game. They were joined on a 3/10 rating by teammates Achraf Hakimi and Marco Veratti, with Veratti described as "apathetic". 16-year-old Champions League debutant Warren Zaire-Emery was also handed a 3/10.
The average rating for the PSG team was a shocking 3.9/10, with manager Christophe Galtier also collecting a "3" rating from L'Équipe, and three players picking up 4s. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was handed a 4, after his mistake allowed Kingsley Coman to give Bayern their ultimately decisive 1-0 lead.

Centre-backs Marquinhos and Sergio Ramos were both given 6/10 - the only PSG players to be rated over 5.
Bayern's player ratings made for happier reading, with four players awarded ratings higher than 7 - with centre-back Dayot Upamecano given the man of the match rating of 8.
In a rather stark indicator of the gulf between the two teams, Benjamin Pavard was rated higher than any PSG player, despite being sent off for a second yellow card in injury-time.
PSG will need a hugely improved performance in Munich on March 8 if they are to progress to the quarter-finals - but they will be able to call on a fully-fit Kylian Mbappé.
