Six fans of Italian fourth division side Pro Patria were gaoled for between forty days and two months today for chanting racist abuse during their team's friendly with Milan in January. Kevin Prince Boateng picked up the ball midway through the game, kicked it into the stands and stormed off the pitch. he was joined by his teammates including M’Baye Niang and Sulley Muntari who were also targeted.

Boateng and Niang gave evidence in the trial while Muntari’s decision to not show up in court has cost him a fine of €500. The public prosecutor had called for prison sentences of between four and six months.
