Former referee Jeff Winter - author of the seminal autobiography Who's The Bastard In Black - has been spending his retirement curating his own personal website, which goes by the catchy title of www.jeffwinterentertainmentandmedia.co.uk.
There are a number of segments to the website, including a blog entitled Winter's World and a 'letters to Jeff' page, which we advise you to check out. Winter also flogs some sports memorabilia on the site, which includes signed pictures of famous players, including Paul Gascoigne, Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard.
Also for sale is a t-shirt, which Winter models himself. He includes the caption "I may not be a male model in the making or have Scott's nipples, but the tee shirt is quality, available via the links for Chris's Copland Street wear". We are unaware of who 'Scott' is, so are unable to comment on the quality or lack thereof of his nipples. While he crafted a reasonable tag-line, Winter should probably have paid more attention to the photo that was uploaded to the site. See if you can spot the *slight* issue with the image:
If you have yet to spot the issue and are yet to recoil in horror and collapse in laughter, look at the base of the mirror in the bottom left-hand corner of the image.
Yep, Winter has forgotten to wear any pants.
It can happen to the best of us, ask to do a friend a favour by modelling a t-shirt to boost its popularity only to forget to wear anything else. Winter, incidentally, said in his book that he hated the "referee's a wanker" chant because it was boring, preferring more original offerings, writing that "'Graham Poll is an arsehole' was funny and, some might say, quite true" . This photo opens Winter up to a few more original chants.
You can buy the t-shirt here.
Thanks to Diarmuid McCloskey for bringing this to our attention.
