While Roy Keane was an incredible footballer, it is likely that some members of the younger generation may think of him more as a straight talking pundit than a world class player.
In fairness, it has been 18 years since the Cork man hung up his boots, with his final game with Celtic coming in 2006. Since then he has forged a coaching career at both club and international level, before becoming a full-time pundit in recent seasons.
Considering all of that, it is understandable why some younger football fans may not be all that familiar with Roy Keane the footballer.
However, it seems that quite a few current Premier League footballers still appreciate just how good he was in his pomp.

Son: I would have to say Roy Keane. Because of [Ji Sung] Park, I watched a lot of United games. He was just there everywhere, what central midfield needed, he was there.
He won a lot of titles...
Yates: I'm going to have to go with Roy Keane, it's a no brainer really. He won the Premier League multiple times with United, coached me here.
I love him to be fair.
Many people may now think of Roy Keane as a pundit first, but it is clear that the current generation of footballers are more than familiar with his playing prowess.
Long may it continue.
