We're all set for a new season of Premier League action as we look forward to the first game of the season this coming weekend, and to wet your appetite even more we've decided to list some of the new players that we'll see for the first time in English football.

While the likes of Petr Cech, Raheem Sterling, Christian Benteke, and Morgan Schneiderlin are all impressive signings for their respective new clubs, we wanted to look at some of the guys who've never been tried in the Premier League.

Fans of the other leagues around Europe like the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 will be familiar with most of these names, but here are 12 exciting new signings that could take over the Premier League.

Bastian Schweinsteiger - Manchester United

What a big signing for Manchester United, and the Premier League, as Mr.Bayern Munich, the man they knew as "The Football God" in Bavaria, has decided to try a new a challenge. Pep Guardiola has raised some concerns over his fitness in recent years, but if Louis Van Gaal can get his shiny new German out on the pitch this season you can expect him to have a very positive influence on Manchester United.

Roberto Firmino - Liverpool

Another of the Bundesliga's big stars has decided to give the Premier League a shot, as highly rated young Brazilian Roberto Firmino joined his compatriots Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva at Anfield. Firmino is a very exciting player, comfortable in a variety of attacking positions. He's a flair player with an eye for goal, and if he gets going early on, expect the Anfield crowd to toast the arrival of a new hero.

Shinji Okazaki - Leicester City

If Claudio Ranieri can get Japanese striker Shinji Okazaki playing to his ful potential, the the Leicester fans will go will for Okazaki's all action forward play. He's great in the air, he works all day long, and he has a knack for popping up in the right place at the right time. Hopefully he suits the Premier League a bit better than other Japanese players who have failed to adapt to the Premier League in recent years. Never a prolific scorer, it's his never-give-up attitude that could see him become a bit hit.

Georginio Wijnaldum - Newcastle United

Formerly a football manager wonderkid, Wijnaldum lived up on his early promise with some seriously impressive performances in midfield for Holland at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. After making the breakthrough at Feyenoord he made the switch to PSV Eindhoven where he slowly worked his way up to the captain's armband, and led PSV to their first title since 2008 with the help of another player on this list. A great signing for Newcastle.

Juanmi - Southampton

It may directly impact Shane Long's minutes on the pitch, but Southampton have once again made impressive use of their renowned scouting system to bring in Spanish striker Juanmi, who is already earning fans with his creativity in pre-season, such as this assist he provided for the aforementioned Long. He's only 6.0m in fantasy football too so keep an eye on him.

Ghanaian international forward André Ayew is definitely an exciting signing for the Swans, as he comes from Ligue 1 with high expectations having made his breakthrough into the Marseille first team at just 17 years of age. He's lighting quick, which suits Swansea's play-style, so expect to see him heavily involved from the off.

Memphis Depay - Manchester United

Dutch starlet Memphis Depay is tipped to become a massive star, and Manchester United put up the money to ensure that he develops at their club and not one of their rivals, also working again with Louis Van Gaal who he has described as a father figure in the past. He's fast, he's built like a tank, he's got skills, he's takes free-kicks, and he has one seriously cool pet dog. This is a very exciting singing for Manchester United fans and he is expected to be trusted by LVG early on.

Kevin Wimmer - Tottenham Hotspur

Yet another promising Bundesliga signing who will be making their debut in the Premier League this season is no-nonsense defender Kevin Wimmer who arrived from FC Koln after impressing with his consistency last season. Spurs have had a bit of trouble at the center back position so they will be hoping that Wimmer can offer some Austrian solidity to their side and organise the backline. This has the potential to be one of the most underrated signings of the summer window.

Jordy Clasie - Southampton

The Dutch take-over of 2015/16 is very real. Southampton acted quickly to replace Morgan Schneiderlin by swiping Feyenoord's captain and Holland international Jordy Clasie. Linked with Manchester United in recent seasons, Clasie is a leader and a very tidy midfield player who has worked with Ronald Koeman before, so you would have to imagine he slots right into the Saints' starting XI and could be a very effective player in the league.

Angelo Ogbonna - West Ham United

It's not often that West Ham sign a player from Juventus, but they managed to convince pacey defender and Italian international Angelo Ogbonna to make the move to London and pull on the claret and blue of West Ham. Ogbonna struggled for playing time at Juve, but he could be a big player for the Hammers if he settles in England and should go straight into the starting lineup for the first game against Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium.

Ibrahim Affelay - Stoke City

What a signing for Stoke this is. The Potters are clearly trying to change their image with a string of new arrivals from the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, and Affelay might be the most exciting of the lot. He's a bag of tricks and plays the game with heaps of creativity. Expect to see some of his highlights on Match Of The Day this year, and he's worth a punt in fantasy football too.

Dimitri Payet - West Ham United

A French international and one of the shining stars of Ligue 1 last season, Payet is a sensational signing for West Ham. A player who looks to provide for others, Payet bagged a frankly ridiculous 21 assists in the league last year, making him an absolute must have for your fantasy football team.
