Nathan Collins continued a brilliant few weeks for Irish footballers as he scored his first goal for Burnley in their epic 3-2 Premier League win at home to Everton. Collins was also recently given the man of the match award for his performance against Lithuania last week.
It was a massive game in this year’s relegation battle with Everton sitting one place outside the drop zone and Burnley one place below. The result doesn't change the position of the sides but puts Burnley just one point behind the Toffees in the battle for Premier League survival.
It took just 12 minutes for the centre back to side foot in a corner at the back post, after defending which the commentator described as “defensively diabolical”.
Absolutely woeful defending from Everton, but a tidy finish from Ireland's Nathan Collins for his first PL goal ☘️ #BUREVE pic.twitter.com/El3RUgslMq

Irish Players Shining In Premier League, Championship and League One
It continues the recent fine goal scoring form from a number of Irish players.
We reported last week on Michael Obafemi’s controversial celebration against Cardiff, in a match which saw him finish his sixth goal in six games.
Last night, Troy Parrot scored an outrageously good goal for MK Dons against Crewe Alexandra, while his teammate and Republic of Ireland U21 international Conor Coventry also scored.
Parrott of course scored the memorable last minute winner against Lithuania in last week’s friendly at the Aviva Stadium.
ABSOLUTE SCENES 🤯

Irish football’s current golden boy Chidozie Ogbene assisted a 96th equaliser for Rotherham in the EFL Trophy Final at Wembley, before going on to grab a stunning winner in extra-time. This added to his case for the mantle of Ireland’s most in-form player after his stunner against Belgium.
And then there is Matt Doherty who nabbed a goal in Tottenham’s massive Premier League win over Newcastle on the weekend. The fullback has recently been flourishing under Antonio Conte and the finish made it two goals and three assists in his last six Premier League games.
