Stats alert!
This Premier League season has seen the goals pour in week after week, and a number of players are stealing the headlines week after week by tallying up goals and assists. The likes of Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez, and Angel Di Maria have impressed in the first few weeks of the season, but none of these players can claim top spot in terms of ratio of chances created per minutes played.
That honour goes to, and therefore statistically the most effective play-maker in the league is...
Manchester City's James Milner!
City's English midfielder creates a goal scoring chance every 23.7 minutes he plays, and the closest competitor to him is his team-mate Jesus Navas who has clocked in an impressive 26.8 minutes per chance created.
It seems surprising to see Cesc Fabregas in fifth, one ahead of Bobby Zamora, and Alexis Sanchez sits behind Joey Barton, but the stats don't lie.
