Yesterday evening on Twitter we threw out a question to our followers asking which would they prefer, an All-Ireland win for their county or Ireland to win the World Cup.
This is how you responded.
And you can have your own say in the poll at the bottom of the page.
Many chose that unlikely World Cup victory for Ireland.
@ballsdotie Ireland winning the World Cup. Kilkenny win the All Ireland every year anyway
— Colm Kavanagh (@ColmKavNffc) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie you're joking right? Ireland to win the world cup by a mile, I have seen my county (cork) win the all ireland a few times though
— KEVIN COTTER (@cotterman2) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie Ireland to win the world cup 100000%. Sligo Rovers to win anything over both of them.
— Superficial Strawbs (@_Strawbs_) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie World Cup by many, many miles.
— Aidan McNelis (@aidanmcnelis) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie World Cup. Easy.
— Extratime.ie News (@ExtratimeNews) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie Irish soccer team to win the World Cup. I'd even take a qualifier victory at this stage....
— Ger McCarthy (@germccarthy74) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie @seidodge no contest for me, ROI qualifying is unbeatable, actually winning it !!
— Eamonn (@subofthenight) October 8, 2013
It really is county dependent though, if you're from somewhere which has not recently or maybe even never tasted All-Ireland success then it's not unreasonable to choose your county first.
@ballsdotie Seeing Kilkenny win an All Ireland football would be pretty special!!
— Donagh Stack (@dunzibar) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie what a surprise coming from Kk or cork. Ask someone from Carlow or Leitrim? Me I d grab the all ireland
— David Roche (@davr1977) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie My County @Carlow_GAA to Win #AISFC & #AISHC. Doesn't *HAVE* to be same year but that'd be nice too! :) #Gaa
— Daithi O'Laoghaire (@DaithiOLaoire) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie Couldn't care less about boring wendyball and the effete primadonnas who play it, Irish or not. Much rather see another Cork AI
— Paul Walsh (@PaulWalsh3) October 8, 2013
— Michael Brophy (@mickbrophy) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie If it didn’t rule out the other option, the World Cup. If I could only see one in my life, an All-Ireland for Waterford.
— Stephen Long (@Stephen_Long) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie County without hesitation. Suspect that differs for Kilkenny, Kerry, Cork etc though.
— Shane O Leary (@shaneoleary1) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie county winning all Ireland, every time!!
— donagh wiseman (@donaghwisey) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie No contest, Galway for a hurling All Ireland.
— Ray Noonan (@RayNoonan01) October 8, 2013
Then there are others who would prefer more local success.
@ballsdotie I would trade both to see my club @KILLYBEGSGAA win the county final in 2 weeks time
— Brìd O'Rourke (@rourkeyb) October 8, 2013
@ballsdotie LoI team winning the Champions League …
— Ben Walsh (@bwalsh) October 8, 2013
Can we pick win LOI? RT @ballsdotie Which would you rather: your county to win an All Ireland or the Irish soccer team to win the World Cup?
— Dodge (@seidodge) October 8, 2013
@seidodge @ballsdotie Irish winner of Tour de France/Giro/Flanders? Antonio's Children to win RMRG FF?
— Aidan G (@onthenickel) October 8, 2013
And then there's this guy.
@ballsdotie chances are Ireland will win World Cup before my beloved Mayo win all ire!
— Pete (@Banm) October 8, 2013
So what would you prefer?
