There was a time a couple of years ago when Plymouth looked like they might establish themselves as a mid-table Championship side and kick on towards the Premier League. It didn't quite happen like that and now they're battling away in League Two trying to climb the ladder once more.
In that regard, the Johnstone's Paint Trophy is not exactly top of the list in terms of priority but at least Tuesday night's clash against Millwall gave one fan the chance to do something special.
And when we say special we do of course mean painfully awkward for everyone involved.
Plymouth were 2-1 down at half-time when this happened:
Tannoy announcer here at Home Park has just read out a message from a bloke asking for "forgiveness" and "one more chance" from his Mrs 😳

And there's video evidence. (sound in the bottom right corner)
Thankfully, the crowd at Home Park had the sense to let the dog house dweller know that that kind of thing is just not acceptable at a football match, even if it is only the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
@CDE283 The crowd booed 😂

No word on whether the gesture went down badly or not but it did nothing to help Plymouth's performance as Millwall came away with a 5-3 win.
