We may be only halfway through the current season, but you already get the sense that this summer is set to be a huge period for a number of European football's biggest club. Both Manchester United and Liverpool are firmly in that group.
Manchester United find will find themselves under new leadership in the months ahead, with Jim Ratcliffe set to overhaul the footballing operations at the club. That includes a new director of football and a refreshed playing squad, while the position of Erik ten Hag could also come under scrutiny depending on how the coming months play out.
For Liverpool, they will have the unenviable task of having to replace Jurgen Klopp after the German's shock announcement that he would leave Anfield at the end of the season. They will also be attempting to undertake the next step in the rebuild of their playing squad, having already rejuvenated a number of positions before the current campaign.
It is likely that the two English rivals will compete for some of the same personnel in the off-season, although it seems one particular player had already decided on his preferred destination.

Premier League winger favours Manchester United move over Liverpool
Michael Olise is likely to be a player in demand this summer, with the Crystal Palace winger drawing interest from a number of England's biggest clubs.
Football London are now reporting that Manchester United would be the player's preferred destination, ahead of other interested parties such as Liverpool and Chelsea.
Olise, who reportedly has a £60million release clause in the contract he signed last year, was a boyhood United fan. The London-born player previously spent time in the academies at Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City before going on to make a breakthrough at Reading.
The player came close to a move to Chelsea last summer, only to then sign a new contract a Selhurst Park.
After the struggles of Antony, it would make sense for Manchester United to recruit a right winger this summer. As for Liverpool, they could also be on the hunt for a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah as he enters the final year of his deal.
