The Twitter universe was slightly abuzz that former Arsenal maestro and current Ajax assistant manager Denis Bergkamp had joined the medium last night. Arsenal fan Piers Morgan found time away from demanding the sacking of Arsene Wenger to fawn over the prospect of the Dutchman possibly following him on Twitter.
It can't be.... can it? > @DBergkamp1969

This changes to belief when Edwin Van Der Saar confirms the account is genuine:
BOOOM!! > RT @vdsar1970 @piersmorgan @DBergkamp1969 account is genuine! @AFCAjax
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) October 12, 2013
That though turns to despair:
Wait.....@DBergkamp1969 just got suspended...and Ajax account now says it's a fake. Edwin....EDWIN @@vdsar1970 ??????
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) October 13, 2013
Which leads us back to overwhelming arrogance:
Well that would explain why @dbergkamp1969 didn't follow me - he wasn't the real one.

Thanks Cesc. Just ruined mine. > RT @cesc4official Dennis Bergkamp account is completely fake guys. Have a good day.

Aaaaagggghhhhh > RT @vdsar1970 Ok sorry for the confusion and misunderstanding but account of Dennis Bergkamp is fake!!

Celebrity fans in various guises invariably embarrass actual fans of those clubs but Morgan is comfortably the worst of the lot. The irony of him being caught out by something that was engineered is also delicious.
It may be a safe bet that Bergkamp may join Twitter sooner rather then later given he has a book out with renowned football author David Winner.
