As Paul O'Brien points out, Cellino has been convicted of fraud in the past, so this may have something to do with Leeds fans dressing as the Mafia rather than it just being that he is Italian.

The prospective new Leeds owner is Italian Massimo Cellinio, he's also the owner of Cagliari. Cellino is currently awaiting approval from the Football League for his takeover.
So as football fans when you've got an Italian possibly taking over your club, what do you do in his honour? Dress as the Mafia, of course.
I'm sure Massimo will greatly appreciate the Italian stereotyping.
