5-a-side is ingrained in Irish sporting culture, so when something is designed specifically for the purpose of making the 5-a-side experience better, you'd better believe we're on it.
Movies, music, and incriminating documents are the types of things that regularly "leak" online, but you can add football boots to that list thanks to the detectives over at FootyHeadlines.com, who got their hands on some pictures of a new boot that is specifically designed to give optimum grip and balance on the 3G artificial pitches that are dotted around the country.
We've all seen the lad in a pair of Asics slip and fall on his arse, and we've all been in a tackle that was 90% studs, so maybe if this catches on then those things will be a thing of the past.
Unfortunately, this boot is apparently named the 'Adidas Tekkers 2016'. Ugh..
Keep in mind that the boot is still in the prototype phase, so hopefully it won't look so strange on release.
The stud pattern is certainly unique, and looks to offer the control of a pair of football boots, while also allowing you to drive a car or wear them inside, which is huge for 5-a-side players.
Hopefully we will see official images soon, and release is expected to be early 2016. We'll keep you posted on these.
