The nominees for the PFAI Player and Young Player of the Year were announced on this week's LOI Weekly podcast. Likewise, the eleven players who made the PFAI Team of the Year were also announced.
The team is dominated by players from Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers, with the clubs having five and four players respectively. Bohemian's Daniel Mandroiu and Derry City's David Parkhouse are the only two players from outside the top two that have made the XI.
Here's the full PFAI Team of the Year:
Goalkeeper: Alan Mannus (Shamrock Rovers)
Defenders: Sean Gannon (Dundalk), Sean Kavanagh (Shamrock Rovers), Sean Hoare (Dundalk), Lee Grace (Shamrock Rovers)
Midfielders: Chris Shields (Dundalk), Jack Byrne (Shamrock Rovers), Daniel Mandroiu (Bohemian)
Attackers: David Parkhouse (Derry City), Patrick Hoban (Dundalk), Michael Duffy (Dundalk)
The nominations for the PFAI Player of the Year are again dominated by Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk. The Dundalk duo of Sean Gannon and Michael Duffy, alongside Shamrock Rovers' Jack Byrne, make up the three nominees. The PFAI Young Player of the Year nominations also include Shamrock Rovers' Jack Byrne, with the playmaker up against Daniel Mandroiu of Bohemian and David Parkhouse of Derry City. All three players are at the tail end of their first season in the League of Ireland.
Both the PFAI Player and Young Player of the Year awards will be announced at the PFAI Awards in November.
