'Petra Fyde' Is Sick To Death Of Irish Football Fans Messaging Her On Facebook

When the Fyde family were blessed with a daughter, they, in their wisdom, decided to give her the Christian name 'Petra'.

As a result, all these years later, their daughter's facebook page has now been bombarded with messages from Northern Ireland, and subsequently Republic of Ireland fans, telling her that a man called Will Grigg, and latterly Shane Long, is on fire and that her defence is 'Petra Fyde'.

Petra herself seems utterly bemused by what's gone on and not a little alarmed. Although the fact that this post has been liked and/or shared over 15,000 times probably didn't help the situation.

On our Euros Facebook page (join here), there is further evidence, in the form of screengrabs, that Irish fans have been informing her that Shane Long is also on fire and that, as a result, her defence is 'Petra Fyde'.

And we could go on but you get the point.

If they're not already, we can only hope that Petra has learned how to send all these messages to her 'Other' inbox in Facebook so that she doesn't have to see them.

Not alone that but Facebook user and Balls.ie Euros group member Kenneth Healy has alerted us to the similar bombardment of a Dutch individual called Jordy Fens.

Unlike Petra Fyde, he is alleged to be personally petrified/terrified of the highly flammable Shane Long. And we've no doubt he's been informed that Will Grigg spooks him also.

Jordy Fens has not been moved to address this bombardment via a status update.
