Possibly the worst case of procrastination the Premier League has seen is over - Arsenal have finally signed a proper replacement for Jens Lehmann.
Petr Cech was officially announced today has having signed a 'long-term contract' with Arsenal for 'an undisclosed fee'.
The fee was reported last week to be around £10.9 million.
Arsene Wenger told the club website:
Petr Cech is a player that I have admired for a long time and I am very pleased that he has decided to join us. He has proven over many seasons that he is one of the outstanding keepers in the world and he will add great strength to our squad.
It is surprising that Jose Mourinho allowed Cech to join Arsenal. The move has the feeling of being sold a second hand car in a deal that seems almost too good to be true.
Anyway, Cech's new teammates are happy with the transfer.
@theowalcott @Arsenal thank you. Happy it won't happen again ?
