Not something you're used to seeing in the media after a charity match, typically, are people criticising the behaviour of participants in said charity match, but Peter Schmeichel was really pissed off with what he saw at Old Trafford for Soccer Aid on Saturday evening.
Schmeichel was incensed by a challenge by Ben Sheppard on Dimitar Berbatov, which saw the 'Goals On Sunday' host shown a red card, a very embarrassing thing to happen for someone in a charity match.
The tackle, in case you missed it, was a bad one, and bizarrely it wasn't his first wild challenge of the match after he scythed down Edgar Davids in the first half:
Then Berbatov had the audacity to try and score in a charity match and was punished for his idea:
The ref was left with no choice.
In the aftermath of the match, Pete Schmeichel singled out Shephard for criticism, and to be fair, he's got a point.
This is out of order.
These guys like Edgar Davids and Ronaldinho they come here, travel a long way and play for nothing.
That’s not the way you treat anyone and it’s a bad, bad tackle. It’s not the first time Ben Shepherd has done this. He did it against Maradona 10 years ago three times.
It's like the bloke who goes flying to challenges at 5-a-side, there is just no need for it at all.
The event did raise around £5.5m for Unicef which is fantastic, but nobody wants to see retired footballers limp off the pitch after being hacked down by a guy off the telly.
It works both ways too, as Teddy Sheringham absolutely battering Gordon Ramsey the last time, or any time Boris Johnson is allowed off of his leash, would suggest that everybody needs to chill out and play some football. Be more like Ronaldinho.
