Peru are the final team to secure a World Cup place after beating New Zealand 2-0 in their play-off today. After the opening goal, the celebrations in their capital city of Lima were such that they activated earthquake-detection apps.
Peru have not been to a World Cup since 1982. A Jefferson Farfan goal gave them a crucial lead and after he did so the Sismo (earthquake) Detector app issued an alert to users that a natural disaster was imminent:

However their researchers soon realised the trigger wasn't two blocks of earth slipping past eachother but Peruvian fans embracing each other.

A second goal by Christian Ramos secured a spot in Russia for the Incas. The game was marred by accusations of lasers being shown at the New Zealand players.

New Zealand Defender Andrew Durante was understandly furious at Peru, claiming they "used every trick in the book."
We knew that they would throw everything at us and they did.
With fans like this it's fair to see they will make for an interesting addition to next year's World Cup.
