One of football's great pantomime villains could be about to move to the Premier League.

Turkish broadcaster NTV Spor reports that Pepe wants to leave Besiktas and join Wolves. The 35-year-old moved to the Turkish side just last summer on a free transfer from Real Madrid.

Besiktas are also said to be keen to see the deal happen.

The Daily Mail reported during the week that there could be a fee of £7 million for the 99-time capped defender who has one year remaining on his contract with Besiktas.

Newly promoted Wolves are a club with strong Portuguese links. Agent Jorges Mendes acts as an adviser for the club.

Already this summer, Pepe's Portugal teammate Joao Moutinho joined from Monaco, along with goalkeeper Rui Patricio from Sporting Lisbon.

Those are in addition to Diogo Jota and Rúben Vinagre who made permanent moves after spending last season on loan as the club won promotion from the Championship.
