Man City take on Liverpool at Anfield this Sunday, with the winner getting the chance to move to the top of the Premier League. Both teams are currently locked on 19 points after seven games, and it's a difficult match to call, despite Jurgen Klopp's impeccable record against Pep Guardiola at Anfield.
One reason Liverpool fans should not get too cocky is the potential return of Kevin De Bruyne to the Manchester City squad, with Pep Guardiola confirming that the Belgian has returned to training following a knee injury:
He made part of the training session today, he is training with us.
Guardiola did not say whether De Bruyne would be in the squad to face Liverpool, but you get the sense that if the 26-year-old is in anyway fit then he will play some part in the tie.
De Bruyne was expected to be out for three months after suffering a lateral collateral ligament lesion in his right knee, but the Belgian has made a quick recovery from the setback to be in contention for the weekend.
One man who will miss Sunday's match is Fabian Delph, with Guardiola ruling the English man out of the tie. The Catalan also stated that Ilkay Gundogan has had some issues but didn't rule the midfielder out of featuring at Anfield.
For Liverpool, the Reds could be without Naby Keita for the City clash with Jurgen Klopp unsure if the Guinean will recover from a back spasm in time to face their opponents:
I’m not 100 per cent sure yet. It was a back spasm. We have to wait a bit.
He will be in today, but I don’t know if he can do something.
It didn’t look too serious, so there’s a chance but we don’t know.
