Luis Suarez has found himself involved in the third biting controversy of his career after sinking his teeth into Giorgio Chiellini’s shoulder last night. Uruguay edged out Italy 1-0 to book their place in the round of 16 but the match was shrouded in controversy because of the Suarez incident.

Paul Scholes weighed in his opinion on Suarez’s antics in his blog with Paddy Power; 'Suarez embarrassed his club, country and family.'

The former Manchester United and England midfielder believes that the Uruguayan’s unsportsmanlike behaviour will destroy his legacy.

He will feel terrible tonight, and the entire incident is such a shame because he’s a tremendous player.

But people will remember Suarez now for his biting antics at this World Cup rather than his supreme footballing ability.

Scholes is looking for huge repercussions for the Liverpool player’s actions and insists that a lengthy spell on the sideline is the only suitable punishment.

Banning him for the rest of the World Cup is not enough, because Colombia will beat Uruguay in their next game anyway.

No doubt FIFA are chewing things over to come to an adequate penalty for the outrageous biting incident.
