With relations between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba seemingly on the mend, it will come as a blow today that the French midfielder has been rules out of Manchester United's crucial Premier League tie against Liverpool.
Paul Pogba’s Liverpool hex continues. Sent off against them as a teenager, performed poorly against them last season and injured for today’s game after he missed the reverse fixture. #mufc

Sitting two points ahead of Jurgen Klopp's side in second place, United will know that a win would provide a massive boost to assuring Champions League qualification.
Although he has been out of sorts in recent weeks, Pogba's absence is sure to be the cause for some concern within the club.
It is likely that Scott McTominay's recent good run of luck will continue in light of the news; the Portuguese boss may once again be forced to turn to the recently declared Scottish international in light of Pogba's injury.
It is understood that Pogba suffered an injury during United's pre-match training on Friday, and did not travel to the team hotel ahead of today's match.
Making up the numbers on the bench, it is possible also that Mourinho will turn to U-23s player Ethan Hamilton; despite the young man playing in United's victory over Liverpool's U-23s last night.
Entirely possible Ethan Hamilton will earn another 11th hour call-up. Played for the U23s the night before he made the bench at Huddersfield and started in the U23s’ win at Liverpool last night. #mufc
