Paul Pogba will join Manchester United for a world record fee when he arrives from Juventus.
This is something that we have known for some time, although we are still waiting for official confirmation once the player returns from holidays, but what we have not known is exactly how much Manchester United are paying and what they are paying it for.
Duncan Castles has claimed in the Daily Record that the negotiations which were believed to be holding up proceedings due to issues with Mino Raiola's pay have now been resolved, and we now have an exact amount in terms of what will be paid. These reports are almost identical to that of James Ducker in The Telegraph, which suggests a briefing has been issued.
Paul Pogba Fee Breakdown
The total fee for the transfer is believed to be £108.9million, of which £83.8m will go to Juventus, and £25.1m will go to Mino Raiola for his 30% sell-on clause that he had written into the contract of his client. That works out at around €130million, €100m of which would go to Juventus.
Castles also revealed the wage demands that Pogba desired in order to leave Juventus:
Pogba, who has been pursued by every one of European football's leading clubs over the past two seasons, wanted an annual after-tax salary worth over £10m to leave Juventus.
Also worth noting is how insanely lucrative this deal will be for Manchester United and Adidas in the long run. Adidas have spent a record amount for the rights to sponsor the club, and by bringing one of their biggest clients in Paul Pogba to the club they could stand to benefit greatly.
Considering the figures that Zlatan's arrival saw in club merchandise, Pogba's return could easily eclipse that and soften the blow on the massive outlay.
So why does Mino Raiola get so much?
Well, for his work in getting Pogba to the Turin club after leaving Manchester United back in 2012, Juventus agreed to give him 30% of any future sell on fee. Little did they know in four years time that clause would net Raoila as much as it has, but still, from paying an £800,000 tribunal fee to netting a world record amount is astonishing business.
Juventus insisted that this fee be paid by Manchester United, when normally the selling club would pay the agent. As a result, the official fee may be reported as £83.8million, with £25.1m put down to agents fees. The total cost of the transfer for Manchester United will be £108.9million.
