I have a theory which I abide by when it comes to football experts making predictions for the season and it goes as follows: whatever prediction Paul Merson makes, the opposite will happen.
Well it seems that Merson himself may start to question his own judgement after the Sky Sports analyst had to go on live TV today dressed as Gonzo from the muppets after stating at the start of the season that he would dress up as the muppet if Huddersfield managed to avoid relegation this season.
Huddersfield clinched another season in the top flight on Wednesday, holding Chelsea to a 1-1 draw and today Merson has fulfilled his forfeit.

To be fair to Merse, the pundit has been magnanimous in defeat and commended the club because they 'give it a go', applauding the chairman for spending money in order to stay in the league.
