Former Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and England defender Ugo Ehiogu passed away in the early hours of Friday morning after suffering a heart attack at Spurs' training ground on Thursday.
The 44-year-old was working as a U23 coach with Spurs.
On Sky Sports News, Ehiogu's former Aston Villa teammate Paul Merson paid an emotional tribute to the four-cap England international.
I'm still devastated. He was such a top bloke, it was unbelievable. He was a man mountain.
You know what, Billy Joel sings a song, 'Only The Good Die Young'. That was him.
He was a top player. A top bloke and a good friend, as well.
Merson added that he had spoken to Ehiogu recently. The Spurs coach had teased former Arsenal player Merson about the talent coming through at White Hart Lane.
I talked to him recently, he was always winding me up, saying Tottenham have got some good players coming through.
