Paul Merson Is Not Having Your Germany Are A Good Team Nonsense

Paul Merson is quite frankly sick of this Germany hype. The former Arsenal and England player and current member of the Sky Sports Soccer Saturday panel has been writing in his skysports.com column about tomorrow night's World Cup final and in classic Merse parlance, he's not having Germany at all.

People might think I’m mad, but I don’t think Germany are that good.

I really don’t. I’m blanking out the Brazil game because Brazil were atrocious. I’ve never seen anything like it in 30 years of football.

Merse goes on to list Germany's admittedly flaky performances against Algeria and the USA as reasons for not buying the German hype and dismissed their historic annihilation of Brazil because of Brazilian incompetence.

I’m not buying into the idea of Germany as a good team at all. They were allowed to go out and play against Brazil"

It's not all negative from Merse, he helpfully describes Leo Messi as a "top, top player" and reckons he could have cobbled together a team from Sky to beat Brazil.

He's "very bullish" about Argentina winning tomorrow night and goes for a 1-0 win.

Worldy opinion writing that.
