Some footballers have to make up for lack of ability with other attributes. Paul McShane has bravery. During Hull's loss to West Brom on Wednesday evening he put his head in the way of danger. That danger being Georgios Samaras' boot.

There was plenty of Irish interest in the game with Robbie Brady giving Hull a 2-1 lead at one stage as he finished off a lovely pass from Hatem Ben Arfa.
