Since Kevin Doyle and Stephen Hunt left Reading in 2009, Irish interest in the Berkshire club has been decreasing steadily. While they were in the Premier League, they were always a club most of us would have kept an eye on. Since then, the likes of Stephen Kelly and Simon Cox (as well as a very healthy supply of Irish youngsters in the club's youth system) have ensured the Irish link remains.
That link has got quite a bit stronger this week. Yesterday, Stephen Quinn signed a three year deal with the Championship club and now his former Hull teammate, Paul McShane, is joining him.
The Ireland defender is undergoing a medical at the moment and, according to getreading.co.uk, he'll be confirmed as a Reading player in the next 24 hours.
Terms agreed with Paul McShane. Medical this morning. Announcement later today, or tomorrow. Hat-trick of signings for #readingfc.

McShane is being signed as a replacement for fellow Irish international Alex Pearce, who signed for Derby at the beginning of June.
